Solar Works are simply great! Although they installed our solar panels about 10 years ago and recently came to check on us because they saw that our inverters did not report to their system. They came by twice for no charge to install connection device and make sure that the production is good intended.

It was very easy to communicate with them, and I feel they simply stand up to the best standard of business service. If you're looking for a to install solar system/ battery or electric solutions you don't need to think twice. I highly recommend Solar works.

Many years ago I worked in the building trades and am very aware of many ways that projects can go wrong. Happily, Solar Works exceeded my expectations. The quality of the installation was quite high. For example, they connected to the back of my service panel instead of installing conduit on the outside.

Before the quotation, Solar Works answered my detailed and specific questions about inverter and panel choices. Solar Works also promptly handled our change request concerning the location of the line inverter.

Initially, they estimated a February 10th start date, they were able to complete the project by January 20th. It is a rare thing for a residential project to be completed early.

I found the installers to be very good about following COVID-19 safety protocols, they always wore masks around us and while inside the house. They also provided a trailer-mounted portable toilet for their use.

We are huge fans of Solar Works. They came highly recommended from friends who installed a system more than 20 years ago. Despite the hurdles thrown at them by the COVID-19 pandemic and this year's spate of wild fires, they came through for us with an amazing solar/battery system that's already saving us money. They listened to our current needs and future plans and built a system that will take care of us well into the future. We'd been reliant on propane for our heating and domestic hot water ... and now we're producing enough energy for the new electric heating and hot water units plus charging the electric car. Propane and electric bills down, cutting our reliance on fossil fuels, doing the right thing for Mother Earth. Solar Works made it all happen for us.

      Kate Winter, Sebastopol CA
We've been a Solar Works customer for over 15 years. SW just completed installation of a second, upgraded system on our Sebastopol house roof, to replace the smaller system they installed in 2002. You will not find a more expert, informed, helpful, environmentally savvy and caring solar company anywhere. In addition to the installation and maintenance of our solar array the folks at Solar Works have answered many technical questions for us over the years, as well as making us aware of tax benefits and other money-saving opportunities related to our alternative energy choices. We also appreciate their community activism in support of environmental causes and of Sonoma Clean Power.

10 stars if I could. One of my most positive experiences with a company small or large in years. Our project - install panels on our roof, an upgrade for our 10 yr old off the grid solar system. Our original ground mounted system failing to collect with increasing reliance on back up generator. We were turned down by several local solar businesses, reasons: off the grid was too complicated for their engineers or our project was too small, though we were given $20,000+ quotes. Solar Works took us on no hesitation. John M provided materials and installation quote that was half the cost of other company and stayed with it. Located optimal collection site for panel placement. Installation was as specified by agreed on timeline - in fact he and his crew completed work earlier than expected. We had one concern after installation but weren't sure if it was a problem. We called John a few weeks after work was completed and he said it was a problem, work/products under warranty, we should expect better performance and had one of his crew come out within a few days to assess. A faulty product was removed and replaced ASAP. Performance improved 100% we haven't used our back up power (generator) since work completed. We are happy!
Don't hesitate, don't research further - our outcome is excellent, Solar Works is an exceptional company - exceeded my expectations in service, installation, follow up. I will not chose another solar installation company

We installed our 7.5kw system more than 10 years ago. After the second year our PG&E bill started going up. By year four we were very upset. Our installer had sold out to another company. They came out and started taking about all kinds of fixes and theoretical solutions that cost lots of money. Instead, I called SolarWorks. They came out and tested the panels and found that half had gone bad. They contacted the manufacturer and not only got the defective panels replaced but all of them at no cost to us. They also recommended some inexpensive modifications that greatly improved our efficiency. The crew was terrific and a pleasure to work with. Just bought and electric car and am calling SolarWorks to install more panels. I'll post another review after.

Anytime I deal with contractors I except a number of things to go wrong: broken promises, lack of communications, missed deadlines, invoice inflation, etc.

None of that happened with our Solar Works PV project.

      1) Exceptional installation quality. My only (minor) compliant is a little sawdust that wasn't swept up in my garage. The county inspector had a different interpretation of a few guidelines and although Solar Works didn't agree, they readily made the changes. (The changes were items SW and I thought were redundant or irrelevant and therefore unnecessary.) Other than that, everything was perfect.

      2) Here's the big point: Constant communication and updates from the Solar Works office. I was never in the dark during the process: from site visits, to proposals, to explanation on state rebates, to design considerations, to installation dates, to county inspection dates, to commissioning by PG&E. Total transparency and very quick responses to calls or emails. Unsurpassed service.

      3) Solar Works as a reputation for doing top-notch PV installs but being expensive. That wasn't the case in our situation. I got three bids, including one from a long-established (30+ years) installer known for highly competitive bids, and Solar Works beat them all.

More importantly, Solar Works' proposal was accurate and comprehensive, while the other proposals were neither.

Our system performance is exactly what Solar Works predicted, which is 110% of the model prediction -- the one required to be used by CA solar installers. The 10% increase is due to using micro inverters; in our case, from Enphase. In the 17 months since installation, we've bought exactly 425 kWH from PG&E; our pre-solar average monthly use was 600 kWH. (Just bought a Leaf in August, so we'll need to buy more PG&E power in the future; how much more is to be determined.)

Anyway, get a bid from Solar Works. You'll notice the difference from start!

These folks are a rare breed these days. SERVICE. Remember that from the 'olden days'? We've not even got our panels up yet and we're already thrilled with solar works. They do what they say they will do when they say they are going to do it. We've been given excellent guidance to make smart choices and felt zero pressure. They are likable, energetic, attractive (who doesn't appreciate that!) enthusiastic, passionate and know their stuff. They provided an excellent education, and coordinated with our roofing company. We have been marinating on solar for 14 years and took our time finding the right fit. So far, we are FLOORED by the hand holding. If the solar panels work as well as solar works, - we'll get out the megaphone.
