Found this nice and modern Italian place in downtown Santa Rosa on a recent trip up to Sonoma. It features a build your own pasta situation with a few specials. In these situations, I generally go for one of the specials in this case, it was the fettuccine with gorgonzola and pancetta.

The pasta was cooked perfectly and went really well with the sauce and the pancetta. As my dessert, I ordered the blood orange sorbet which also served as a nice palate cleanser. With tax and tip, this was under $25.

It's a counter service situation for lunch and the restaurant has nice wide booths as well as an outdoor area. I'd definitely recommend this place if you are craving Italian and are in the area.

Perfectly cooked pasta. Succinct menu. Nice staff. This is a great fast casual Italian spot. I'm hoping it will finally be the place that sticks in this fantastic but often heavily turned over location. The market has interesting products and the menu is simple.

The bread is fantastic and I highly recommend the bruschetta. I have tried several of the appetizers including the kale salad, the arancini, and the garlic bread. All fantastic for light bites with a glass of wine. The soft serve gelato is also heavenly!

      Check this spot out!

      First review of 2019! Whoo!!

I have had Mercato bookmarked for a few weeks now and was finally able to swoop by tonight to try it out. I was intrigued by the idea of a casual, affordable pasta place, and lemme tell you-- it's just that!

I got the basil pesto chicken fettuccine and a glass of Chardonnay and it was fresh and flavorful. I feel like they know what they're doing. The noodles aren't too heavy and the taste is perfectly balanced.

My friend got the fettuccine Alfredo which was also on point. I love how quick it was and how it has a chill ambiance.

Thanks, Mercato Pasta. Here's to hoping they do excellent in the new year!

      What a surprise!

I didn't realize this location was no longer a burger joint so I was quite surprised when I opened the door and immediately heard the Italian themed music. We decided to stay and give the new restaurant a shot.

Easy menu to read therefore making ordering a breeze. Your order and pay at the counter before seating yourself. Prices were quite affordable especially for Italian cuisine.

We ordered the Cheese Raviolis with Alfredo Sauce and meatballs (for additional fee) and the Rigatoni with Alfredo Sauce and meatballs. Pasta was cooked to perfection. The texture of the rigatoni was phenomenal and this was the best tasting Alfredo sauce I've ever had. It had more of a sophisticated flavor to it. It's hard to explain in words so I guess you just need to try it for yourself.

The restaurant also has a small market area that you can shop from with a wide variety of items.

I will definitely be back for more.

For those who don't Know this place is the former Bibi's burger bar (flip side before that).

Wanting to give this "new" place a try, I came here on a Friday afternoon (around 3pm), and the place was empty.
I sat down, and was told that you order/pay at the bar.

The server gave me a happy hour menu, and a full menu.

I ordered the garlic bread, and the ravioli with bolognese sauce.

They use a square POS (point of sale) system, I gave the server my card, and he told me to sign. At no point was I ever given the option to tip (which I thought was strange), as usually you can leave an amount.

My garlic bread came about 10 minutes before the ravioli dish came.
The food itself came in a large deep bowl; which made it appear that there was more food than there actually was.

Although the dish itself was good; there was more sauce than raviolis; as a result, after finishing the raviolis there was too much sauce left over.
As I was eating, I checked my email, I noticed that I was charged $6 dollars for bread; when the happy hour price said $3.00. I also noticed there was a tip of $3.51 that was automatically added to my bill.

In conclusion; would I come back? Possibly; if I was with company; but not by myself.

Where else would you go on National Spaghetti Day? I came here because spaghetti was trending on Twitter. Yup, that's why I went there. And what a surprise to taste an elevated spaghetti! Perfect al dente noodles and a flavorful sauce with obviously fresh ingredients. The friendly staff let me try a complimentary gelato! I didn't have a sweet tooth... but I do now!

I went back two days later for the most delicious kale Caesar salad (and more spaghetti... I'm still celebrating National Spaghetti Day... what can I say, I'm a patriot). Amazing and creamy!

Great location too- right downtown, across the street from a large lot, next to a movie theater. Fantastico!

      Kale Caesar so good!

Vodka tomato sauce here is very good. Had a nice amount of spice. Arancini were also delicious. However, the garlic bread left something to be desired. Had the rigatoni with pancetta and totally hit the spot.

Love it! Looking forward to coming back.
All of the staff that I interacted with were great. The concept is nice, and the inside is welcoming.

I ordered from the "make you own" section, and what I ordered was simple. Although it was simple, my rigatoni with bolognese and meatballs was full of flavor. The pasta wasn't like anything I've had around. It in itself was delicious, and we prepared. The meatballs were really great.

I definitely have to swing by and grab some pasta from the market next time I make pasta at home.

Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Wow!! What a nice place! Very modern and fresh! The food was also sooo good!!!! We went during restaurant week we had the garlic bread, and the fried rice/cheese balls (I forgot the name). They were both soooooo good!! I wish they had them in entre size! We had chicken Alfredo and the vegetable pasta marinara, both were so good!! You basically build your pasta! And the pasta is sooo fresh!

New favorite place glad we were able to try it during restaurant week!

The process of ordering is a bit new and different from a typical restaurant but it seems to work. My chopped salad was delicious. The dressing is fantastic!
Our group had chicken Alfredo, spaghetti and bolognese sauce and spaghetti with the marinara sauce. We all remarked about the excellent pasta texture. So right! Sauces are just right for foodies. Garlic bread is the best.
Come here and try it, you will love it!
