📢 Burbank Housing is excited to announce that it was awarded $9.7 million dollars in Joe Serna, Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant funds as part of California Department of Housing & Community Development's Multifamily Finance Super NOFA (MFSN) Round 2! An incredible show of support by the State of California that will go towards financing the construction of Dry Creek Commons, a 58-unit multifamily housing project in partnership with the City of Healdsburg that is planned in north Healdsburg. A significant number of the planned units will be set aside for agricultural workers, helping people stay and thrive in the communities they work in. 📰➡️Read our press release here: https://lnkd.in/gyBru-BD #healdsburg #BurbankHousing2024 #AffordableHousing #sonomacounty

Burbank Housing is pleased to share that following close collaboration with the Oakmont Village Association, the two organizations have reached an agreement on the construction of a fire apparatus access road, commonly referred to as an emergency vehicle access (EVA) route, as part of the development of the Southeast Santa Rosa (SESR) housing project (formerly known as "Elnoka"). The EVA will provide an additional means of ingress and egress through the future project, beyond the two required by California Fire Code, and is anticipated to be utilized for recreational purposes when not in use during public emergencies, offering greater connectivity for pedestrians and bicyclists throughout Sonoma Valley. Burbank Housing understands that close collaboration with the surrounding community, particularly as it relates to long-standing calls for more robust natural disaster preparedness, is the right path forward towards designing a housing development that not only provides opportunities for those in need of affordable housing, but raises the quality of life for the surrounding community as well. Burbank Housing and Related California were beyond thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of Laurel at Perennial Park last Friday at the site of the former Journey’s End mobile home park in Santa Rosa, one of the many communities destroyed during the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Residents of Laurel, including some former Journey’s End residents, joined Congressman Mike Thompson, California Senator Mike McGuire, Sonoma County Supervisor Chris Coursey, City of Santa Rosa Council Member Victoria Fleming along with staff from Burbank Housing, Related California, public officials, local community leaders and financial partners in cutting the ribbon and welcoming residents to their new home. A development showcasing the power of public-private partnerships and the critical role disaster recovery funding plays in expediting rebuilding, Laurel at Perennial Park was made possible with the partnerships of Congressman Thompson, Treasurer Fiona Ma, the City of Santa Rosa, the County of Sonoma, the California Department of Housing & Community Development, Enterprise Community Partners, Banner Bank, Morgan Stanley and Kaiser Permanente. Additional thanks to our general contractor Nibbi Brothers General Contractors, and architect Van Meter Williams Pollack (VMWP) for an absolutely stunning building inside and out. This new affordable senior housing community is conveniently located near transit, retail, and healthcare amenities. The first two phases of Laurel include 132 units of affordable senior homes, and Phase III will create an additional 30 units once financing is complete. During this anniversary month of the 2017 Tubbs Fire, it’s both humbling and gratifying to celebrate this symbol of community resiliency and recovery in the aftermath of climate disaster and is a landmark step forward in our collective effort to rebuild bigger, better, stronger and safer.

All experiences I look forward to applying to any future team I have the privilege to join." Freshly graduated from Sonoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies, Angelica is now embarking on a new chapter as she returns to her hometown of Sacramento. 🥳🎉🎈A big week for Burbank Housing and Santa Rosa as we celebrated the grand opening of Phase 1 of Caritas Homes yesterday! Read our press release here! 📰➡️ https://lnkd.in/gmUZFHFK Caritas Homes is a 128-unit affordable housing community built in two phases that provides homes for low-income households and permanent supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness. Phase One of this community is now complete and brings 64-units of critically needed housing to the Santa Rosa and Sonoma County community. Phase 2 will be an identical development that Burbank hopes to break ground on next fall. The funding and financing for Caritas Homes Phase 1 was truly a partnership showcasing a Who’s Who of public agencies and private organizations committed to the continued, healthy growth of Santa Rosa by working to eliminate homelessness in our community and provide homes for working class families. Significant support provided by the City of Santa Rosa Housing Authority, County of Sonoma Community Development Commission, Apple Corp., Silicon Valley Bank, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Providence, California Department of Housing & Community Development , and the California State Treasurer's Office. Caritas Homes is the affordable housing component of Caritas Village, the master redevelopment of the downtown city block envisioned by our good friends and community anchor, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, as a national model to provide permanent solutions to reduce homelessness. The heart of Caritas Village, Catholic Charities’ Caritas Center, opened its doors last September. We want to thank the California State Tresure’s Office for sending representative Rachell Owen-Reinwald to join the occasion, recognizing the hard work that both Burbank and Catholic Charities have brought to bare on the project. A special thanks to US Congressman Mike Thompson’s Office and Thompson representative Katarina Giudice-White for their recognition of Architect Mike Pyatok during yesterday’s event. Mike’s work, and that of PYATOK architecture + urban design in general, have a long history of designing stunning buildings in the affordable housing space, including Caritas Homes. We want to thank all of our friends and partners that came out yesterday to join us, including officials and staff from the County of Sonoma, City of Santa Rosa, SVB, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Nibbi Brothers General Contractors, Wells Fargo, West County Community Services, Pyatok, Community Support Network, and most importantly the new residents of Caritas Homes. One resident in particular, Sam Rivera, deserves special recognition for his heartfelt speech during yesterday’s ceremony. The Caritas Homes community is lucky to have you as a neighbor, Sam! We look forward to seeing you all again for Phase 2! 🎉🏘️ #burbankhousing2023 #affordablehousing #santarosa #caritashomes #caritasvillage #sonomacounty
